Prayers please

I know I haven't posted in forever & I'm sorry I'm coming on now only to request something. But your prayers are needed for the Z family. D was killed in a heavy equipment accident yesterday. He leaves behind his wife B & their 4 boys, T, K, J & C. B is a good friend of mine from the town we used to live in. This is a strong family that loves the Lord but they will need lots of prayer support in the coming days. We know that D is in heaven but B & her boys will miss him terribly, especially J & C who are juniors in HS this year.
Thanks so much, I'll be back soon. Just preoccupied lately & busy with life.
God bless you all,
Alane

Prayers pretty please

Ok, I have a million things to do today, we are going to a family reunion on Thursday & I have a lot to get done before the trip.
So this morning I gave my email a quick check before attacking my list & found a message from our bank that we are overdrawn -by almost 400 bucks.
Jumpin Jehoshaphat, dagnabbit, frickin' frackin, and a big oh poop!
I went over my grocery receipts for items I can return & raided the coin jar - that plus the money I can take out of my other bank (vacation fund, emergency fund) will just barely make up the difference.
This took me forever, between finding stuff & just sitting here stunned & now I have even less time to get the new emergency stuff I must do plus me to do list done.
I would appreciate any prayers you could send our way. That we won't get in the hole again before Chris gets paid on Thursday, that we will have enough for our vacation (we ARE going no matter what!!) and that I won't kill Chris for not keeping up with the accounts. Oh, and that I can get my list done & the kids won't be a problem today.
Thanks guys, you are the best...I'm off to put a band aid on a severed limb :)

Prayers needed!

Please go check out the last couple of days on Nate's blog & pray for his family. Tricia is having health challenges that are very scary. They need all the prayers & support they can get.
Thanks,
Alane

Some words from The Word

This does not usually happen to me.
I woke up in the middle of the night (well that happens often with 3 kids but this was different) with the strong impression that I post this scripture on my blog today.
I tried to ignore it but He's brought the thought back to me many times today so...

Psalm 13
For the director of music. A Psalm of David.
1 How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
and every day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me?
3 Look on me and answer, O Lord my God.
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death;
4 my enemy will say, "I have overcome him,"
and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
5 But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
6 I will sing to the Lord,
for he has been good to me.

Chris & I came across this in our nightly reading when we were in the midst of many many job troubles & it spoke to my heart. I truly felt like all the world was against us & our troubles would never end. I was working hard at being thankful in all things but was struggling mightily. Trying to find the joy in not having a job...again...was hard. Would we ever get out of poverty? Off of assistance? Be able to pay our bills without asking someone for help? I did not feel like it would ever end.

These verses gave me hope. David was going through the same feelings of hopelessness & despair. He trusted God, rejoiced in His salvation & sang praises to Him, even in the midst of suffering. Just what I was trying to figure out for myself.
Has it gotten better for us? Somewhat. Do I fight those same feelings? Yes. But I know that He has plans for me, plans for me to prosper, for hope and a future. I will call upon Him & seek Him with all my heart & I will find him . (paraphrase of Jeremiah 29:11-14, highly recommended reading!)

I don't know why God asked me to post this today but my prayer is that it will speak to someone that needs it. God is with you always & holds you in His hands if you open the door of your heart to Him. If you have not, please click on the red Ready? button on the upper right of my page. He loves you and wants you, please let Him in - you will never regret it!

The seat and some dishes

Why is it that boys cannot hit the bowl?
I mean, it's not that small a target is it? But every time I forget to check I end up with a wet bum. It's funny when Chris complains about it. "Why do I always have to sit on a wet seat?" he says. HA - you hardly ever have to sit so I don't want to hear it. I either get a wet butt or go ker-Plunk in the night, girrr. Who taught them how to aim anyway...gee could it be their daddy? Oh goody I get to blame him again mwahahahaha!

~~~~~~~~~~
Speaking of the man of the house...
While I was sick over the weekend, he assured me that he would do all the dishes. This was, of course, after they had all been piled in the sink & all over the counter. To eat my Campbell's chicken soup (THE ultimate sick food), I had to use a Pyrex measuring bowl.
Anyway, Saturday night he clears them all out & starts a load. Still have dishes everywhere but it's a start. Sunday AM he does another load. Okay we're getting somewhere now...we'll see if he finishes.
Nope! Sunday evening he proudly announces to me "see babe, I got all the dishes done. All that's left are the big pots, I even unloaded the dishwasher for you!" Hold it there buster, all that are left? Wouldn't that mean that you are not, in fact done?
Like the good passive aggressive wife that I am I smiled sweetly and thanked him. Then went into the kitchen to do the rest of his dishes with much loud banging & growling.
This is something that happens every time I'm sick. I'm a perfectionist. It drives me nuts when someone declares a job done when it is not actually done. I know, I need to loosen up & be thankful that he helps me at all but I just haven't been able to get my brain around that yet.
In my heart of hearts I would love to be the wonderful homemaker who just sails through everything with a smile & smothers her husband with respect bla bla bla. But I'm not. I'm the grumpy, say nothing is wrong then seethe & make nasty comments when he's not listening kind of wife. Pray for the poor guy will ya?
