Much ado about...

K, planned on posting my recipe today but time got away from me. I'll post 2 next week to make up for it.

Today was a busy day - much more than usual. I should state for the record my goal in life is to NOT be busy. Granted, I have 3 kids & the older they get the busier I'm going to be but I can still dream right?
So morning was normal, kids wake me up & beg for breakfast for 20 minutes while I'm a good example lesson on what not to do by laying in bed until the last minute possible.
(I'm so proud!)
Took Sam to summer school, came home, set the twins up with a movie & jumped in the shower.
Started cleaning up the kitchen (holy cow, I think every dish was in the sink or counter) & picking up the house. I felt like poo-poo yesterday so I laid on the couch as much as possible. I think I only got up to attend children (fix food, & change movies) & use the bathroom. The house was a mess!
Go pick up Sam from summer school.
Get call from BFF asking if I'm going to reading program. Ummm, I should but I don't wanna. Oh phooey, I'll go already. There's only 1 week after this & we've only gone 3 times.
Make lunch, eat lunch, go to library.
Endure chaos that is summer reading program (I might just blog on this another day - it's, to put it nicely, not planned well.)
BFF asks if I want to do dinner together - yupper-do! Her hubby works swing shift & it's Chris's night at my sisters so perfect timing.
Go to extremely overpriced small town grocery store to get more dinner fixins.

BFF arrives with kids, we shoo all but the baby out to play in the sprinkler.
Kids play, we talk. Kids fight, we yell. Kids play, we talk...ok you get the idea.
We eat, the kids run around the house chasing each other & yelling, we shoo them upstairs so we can hear each other talk.
Kids fight.
"Ok movie time kids, everyone on the couch!"
We talk until movie is over & it's 30 minutes past bedtime.

They go, but we wish for a sitter.

Wow, that ended up a lot longer than I thought and all to tell you I didn't have time to post my recipe. Don't you feel informed now? Yeah, I wouldn't either :)

Whew!

Lunch with D

I got to meet a bloggy friend in person yesterday...what fun!

I've been following D's blog for some time now. She is a sweet lady who loves the Lord (and her family) with passion & takes some pretty great pictures to boot.
She and her hubby work with
Transport For Christ, a neat ministry that serves truckers. I don't know too much about them other than I've learned at D's blog so I've borrowed this info from their site.

Mission: To lead truck drivers as well as the trucking community to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith.

Vision: To provide an effective ministry to truck drivers throughout the world wherever there is a significant trucking industry.

Goal: That no trucker should have to drive more than a day without being able to find a TFC Mobile Chapel.

Neat huh?
C, (D's hubby) just outfitted a new chapel, made from an old semi-trailer, and they delivered it to Chilliwack B.C.
As I was belatedly following their trip Westward (through D's fantastic photography) I discovered that they had gone right past my town, how bout that? I left her a comment about it & she replied that they would be returning the same way & it would be nice to meet me.

Heck yeah!!
I immediately gave her my e-mail & the rest is history.
We had a lovely lunch together & then they let us climb around in the cab of their truck - the kids had a BLAST! (Did I say kids? I've always had a hankerin' to ride in one of them thangs so sitting in the cab was more for me - yup, I'm 5 at heart!)
She took some pics of us while they were here so go check out her blog not only cos it's great but also to see me & my dynamic duo :)

Maybe next time

So I had a great idea for a blog Monday night - did some brainstorming & jotted down my ideas & everything. Was going to work on that like crazy on Tuesday.

BUT

I woke up in the middle of the night...and discovered that my darling children had given me their lovely bug. You know, the one that makes you throw up your toenails? Yup, that's the one!

So I spent yesterday on the couch, trying to do as little as possible. Thank goodness Sam is in school now so I only had to deal with the twins. They, of course, destroyed the house. They so know when they can take total advantage of me. Little brats, I mean, smart kids that they are. (still don't know how to do that strikethrough thing - if anyone wants to enlighten me help yourself!)

Eli got into the tape. For some reason he loves to tape straws to pencils & call them swords or fising poles. So he climed on the counter & raided the straws, then taped them to every writing empliment he could find. Then he broke the tape thingie & just stuck the tape all over the house. (Me, feebly from the couch) "Eli, put the tape away. Eli, ELI! Oh forget it!" (falls asleep)

Then one or both of them decided it would be a good idea to empty the Kleenex box all over the living room. Nice guys! Oh, Daddy was a happy guy when he got home!!

I have to send out kudos to my dear friend Leah. She saved my life & brought the twins lunch for me. Cold cereal in the morning I could (barely) handle but pb&j - not on your life! She also brought Chris dinner later, what a gal!!

I'm feeling better today. I was able to start drinking gatorade last night & eat some white bread. Had some tea & toast this morning. I might even throw some stuff in the crock-pot for dinner. That is, after I take a nap...
