In answer to your question about payperpost...it's going okay, although I have discovered that many opportunities are unavailable to me because my blog is on blogspot (another one that gets excluded often is myspace). I am currently in the process of trying to find another site to blog on so that I can give myself more opportunity to make money. So far, I have been approved for (but not yet paid) just over $33 altogether for the 3 posts I submitted. Payment is supposed to take about 30 days from the date they approve your post.
I think it's something you can definitely make some decent money at, you just have to do a little research into how to increase your blog traffic (and have a blog that isn't excluded from many offers)
You are a tried and trusted friend who will be there for your friends when they need you. But you have a tendency to be nervous about doing things that go against the norm.
