Maybe try Terry Brooks' Sword of Shannara - in the same fantasy vein as J.R.R.Tolkien, in fact some even say that he is a Tolkien rip off. I would suggest Stephen King, but you might not like him, as he has a foul mouth and sometimes he just isn't nice. :)Roger Millerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01831602215904873587noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7614350011592654715.post-34730467048420757052008-03-11T16:26:00.000-07:002008-03-11T16:26:00.000-07:00I love books too. Yeah, I know, I'm behind the times on this one!Vanessahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14149777435132497067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7614350011592654715.post-90693093474039476852008-03-10T18:58:00.000-07:002008-03-10T18:58:00.000-07:00Okay in the world of Christian Fiction it depends ...Okay in the world of Christian Fiction it depends on your style and love, if you are like me and like a little of everything then let me tell you about some authors, because I tend to like certain authors and stick to them.
If you like sappy Little House on the Prarie type books Janette Oke is your woman. If you are interested in Amish lifestyles then go for Beverly Lewis. If you just like a good/great sotory then their is the ever popular Left Behind series, go ahead start with the prequeals and go all the way to the sequel, it will take up an entire month of daily reading, or 2-3 months of nightly reading. If you like the somewhat supernatural then Frank Peretti is your man. If you really like the weird and unpredictable then Ted Dekker is great (I would read a little Peretti before trying Dekker he gets weird!). Oh and if you like the Left Behind Series Jerry Jenkins has started a new series with a book called Soon. I also like Francine Rivers for a more fictional history type of book.
If you can't tell you hit upon a love of mine. Actually the only non "Christian" fiction I read is John Grisham but he is a Christian I hear so I trust him not to have smut or junk in his books. If you have any questions on any of these authors let me know. I only know a few books off your list (Anne of Green Gables (which I am looking to get so I can read), Lord of the Rings, and the Hobbit (both of which my husband had me read and I love him even more for making me do it!)) I think that was long enough for a comment! Let me know if you pick any of these up!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15483200730419836991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7614350011592654715.post-66311172875480657712008-03-10T18:51:00.000-07:002008-03-10T18:51:00.000-07:00I love all of the Anne of Green Gables books. Maybe this summer.

Lately I've been reading cozies-mysteries that are a little lighter--like Miss Marple mysteries. They're all I can concentrate on right now.

As for Christian fiction, I read a pretty cute chick lit one a while ago, Heavens to Betsy, I think.Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15456733077542868694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7614350011592654715.post-8755726373296735922008-03-10T15:02:00.000-07:002008-03-10T15:02:00.000-07:00Love all the books seems we have the same taste :)...Love all the books seems we have the same taste :)Sandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00448386993712122412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7614350011592654715.post-86588551418174436252008-03-10T04:04:00.000-07:002008-03-10T04:04:00.000-07:00Check out my blog, I left you an award.
